Basketball Recap: Saginaw Comes Up Short

Saginaw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 69-37 loss at the hands of the Brewer Bears. The match marked the Rough Riders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Brewer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nash Pena led the charge by going 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Pena a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Jayden Jones, who went 5 of 12 en route to 15 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Saginaw's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Brewer, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 12-12.

Saginaw will venture away from home to take on Aledo at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brewer, they will challenge Granbury at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
