Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kayla Girardin and Sydney Hill Lead Pelham to Victory

There's no place like home for Pelham, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Chelsea Hornets on Thursday. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Pelham had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 27-25, 25-19, 25-19.

Pelham was led to victory by Sydney Hill and Kayla Girardin. Hill had ten digs and two aces, while Girardin had eight digs and three aces. That's the most digs Girardin has posted over her last eight contests.

They weren't the only good servers: Pelham was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They served two more aces than Chelsea's also-impressive total of 11.

Despite the loss, Chelsea still got an impressive performance from Sophia Bagley, who had 23 digs and two aces. Sophie Garrard also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Pelham moved to 10-17 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak. As for Chelsea, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.

Pelham has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Hartselle on the 27th. As for Chelsea, they will take on Helena at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
