East St. Louis picks up sixth straight win on the road

Recap: East St. Louis Flyers vs. Jefferson City Jays

The East St. Louis Flyers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 73-60 victory over Jefferson City. Given East St. Louis' advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 95th in Illinois, while Jefferson City is ranked 284th in Missouri), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East St. Louis got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Arlandis Browm out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert McCline, who scored 19 points.

East St. Louis pushed their record up to 6-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Jefferson City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East St. Louis will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Pekin on Wednesday. As for Jefferson City, they will face off against Blue Springs at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Blue Springs is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
