Football Recap: Trey Wimbley Key Part of Team Effort in Lions Win + How To Watch

Daniel won the last time they faced Clinton and things went their way on Friday too. The Lions came out on top against the Red Devils by a score of 41-33. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Daniel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trey Wimbley, who picked up 80 receiving yards and two TDs. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmanuel Major, who rushed for 80 yards and one score on only five carries.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 17 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Wimbley, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Clinton still got an impressive performance from Javen Cook, who rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Cook's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 102 rushing yards.

Daniel's record is now 3-1. As for Clinton, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Daniel will take on Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Bobcats have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Clinton, they will face off against Union County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils will be up against the Yellowjackets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.2 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
