Basketball Game Preview: Avon Eagles vs. Midview Middies

Avon and Midview are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Avon Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Midview Middies at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Avon is headed into Saturday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-54 heartbreaker at the hands of Berea-Midpark.

Meanwhile, Midview can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They took down North Ridgeville 65-51. The Middies pushed the score to 52-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rangers cut but never quite recovered from.

Avon's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5. As for Midview, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14.

Everything came up roses for Avon against Midview when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 57-26 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Avon since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
