Football Recap: Woodside Starts Season with Win Against Westmont + How To Watch

Woodside had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Westmont Warriors 44-0. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row dating back to last season.

Daniel Torres was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 157 yards and three scores, and also picked up 31 receiving yards. His longest rush was for an incredible 85 yards. Another player making a difference was Alex Valencia, who rushed for 98 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Woodside was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 383 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 176 rushing yards in 11 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodside will venture away from home to square off against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Westmont, they will head out to face off against Fremont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
