Basketball Recap: Benson Takes a Loss

Benson played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Papillion-LaVista Monarchs, falling 76-48. The Bunnies' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Papillion-LaVista's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayda Richardson led the charge by going 8-for-16 en route to 19 points along with six boards and three steals. Taliyah Jackson was another key player, going 7-for-15 on her way to 20 points and six rebounds.

Benson's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Papillion-LaVista, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benson will challenge Kearney at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Papillion-LaVista, they will face off against Burke at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Papillion-LaVista's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
