Softball Recap: Boardman's Winning Streak Snapped at Nine Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Boardman can now relate to. They fell just short of the Springfield Blue Devils by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The contest marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Mikayla Rivera made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Boardman moved to 26-5 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak. As for Springfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season.

Boardman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Springfield, they will challenge Dover at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Crimson Tornadoes' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Blue Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
