Recap: South Delta Bulldogs vs. Port Gibson Blue Waves
The South Delta Bulldogs waltzed into Friday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They snuck past Port Gibson with a 60-56 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Delta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamichael Green, who scored 21 points along with 5 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Green has scored at least 25% of South Delta's points. Another player making a difference was Ahmani Lee, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
South Delta now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Port Gibson, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Delta will take on Jefferson County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson County comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Port Gibson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Vicksburg at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Vicksburg has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 622 points over their last nine matches.
