The Manchester Squires will head out on the road to take on the Concord Minutemen at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Manchester is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14.6 runs per game this season.

Manchester barely beat Churubusco the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Squires put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 15-5 win on Friday. The Squires have beaten the Eagles the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.

Manchester got a massive performance out of Dallas Martin, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was Martin's first of the season. Brendyn Mugford was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Concord sidestepped Bremen for a 4-3 victory.

Joey Hauger looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jordan Flores, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Norwood, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

The win got Concord back to even at 1-1. As for Manchester, their record now sits at 4-1.

Manchester suffered a grim 14-7 defeat to Concord in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Squires avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
