Softball Recap: Marist Picks Up 14th Consecutive Win

Marist had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hinsdale Central Red Devils a 15-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the RedHawks have won 21 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Marist's 14th in a row) raised their record to 33-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Hinsdale Central, they dropped their record down to 11-13 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coming up, Marist will challenge St. Laurence at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. Hinsdale Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
