Baseball Recap: Sneads Find Success

Sneads won the last time they faced Port St. Joe and things went their way on Friday too. The Sneads Pirates came out on top against the Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks by a score of 9-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Traivon Danzey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Sneads: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on John Loftus, who scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 1-for-3. Sneads is undefeated when Loftus posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Aaron Williams was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

The victory got Sneads back to even at 5-5. As for Port St. Joe, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Sneads wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against Liberty County on the 10th. Port St. Joe has also already played their next match (against Miller County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
