Baseball Recap: Eunice Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

It was a proper cat-fight when Eunice challenged Jal on Saturday. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Fernando Serna was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andrez Serrano, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Luis Zamora, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

Eunice is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Jal, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-10.

Eunice will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
