Soccer Game Preview: Colony vs. Los Altos

The Colony Titans are taking a road trip to take on the Los Altos Conquerors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Colony is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Colony will bounce into Friday's match after beating Alta Loma, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Colony had just enough and edged Alta Loma out 3-2 on Wednesday. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Braves are ranked 707th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Los Altos won against San Dimas last Wednesday with two goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Friday. Los Altos narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Alta Loma 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Conquerors.

Colony is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those eight games. As for Los Altos, their win bumped their record up to 8-5-4.

Colony beat Los Altos 2-0 when the teams last played last Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Colony since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
