Centennial is 7-2 against Liberty since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Patriots at 3:30 p.m. Centennial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Centennial is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Palo Verde, who was ranked third at the time (Centennial was ranked seventh). The Bulldogs blew past the Panthers 12-3 on Wednesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.
Jake Turner made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Tyler Jackson was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Kobe Peterson was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
Centennial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Liberty didn't have quite enough to beat Sierra Vista on Thursday and fell 7-6. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Rashaan Chavis was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Dahlgren, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Centennial pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
Centennial came up short against Liberty when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 6-3. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
