Providence Classical had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Banff Bears by a score of 60-51 on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Paladins as it spelled an end to their 12-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Banff lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jayden Oriedetu, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Taha Unwala was another key player, scoring 14 points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence Classical will be defending their home-court for the first time this season they go up against Frassati Catholic on Friday. Providence Classical is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season. As for Banff, they will welcome Shady Acres Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Banff is looking for their season's first victory.
