Baseball Game Preview: Kingsley Stags vs. Evart Wildcats

The Kingsley Stags will venture away from home to challenge the Evart Wildcats at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Kingsley will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Kingsley made easy work of Boyne City and carried off a 13-1 win.

Meanwhile, Evart got the win against Au Gres-Sims on Friday by a conclusive 13-1. Considering the Wildcats have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Aidan Anderson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Sean Jackson and Aaron VanAssche did most of the damage at the plate: Jackson went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while VanAssche went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave VanAssche a new career-high. Milan Kimball also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Kingsley pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Evart, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-8-1.
