Basketball Game Preview: Seton Catholic Cougars vs. Columbia Bruins

The Seton Catholic Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Columbia Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Seton Catholic will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Seton Catholic will head into Saturday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 39) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 35-33 victory over Jesuit. The win was all the more spectacular given the Cougars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 123rd in Washington, while the Crusaders are ranked 34th in Oregon).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Columbia, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 50-37 victory over La Center on Thursday.

Seton Catholic is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.9 points per game. As for Columbia, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Everything went Seton Catholic's way against Columbia in their previous matchup on January 8th, as Seton Catholic made off with a 54-28 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seton Catholic since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
