Softball Recap: Big Foot Triumphs

Big Foot won the last time they faced Monroe and things went their way on Friday too. The Chiefs narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Cheesemakers 2-1. That's two games straight that the Chiefs have won by just one run.

Holly Kynell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lily Wolf, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Big Foot and bumps their season record up to 10-7. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Monroe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-5 record this season.

Big Foot and Monroe should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Chiefs (ranked 146th) will meet Edgerton (ranked 319th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Monroe will square off against Delavan-Darien at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (61 vs. 332).
