Preview: Bell Bulldogs vs. Trenton Tigers
Bell and Trenton are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Bell Bulldogs have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Trenton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th.
Last Tuesday, Bell had to suffer through a rough 60-24 loss at the hands of Saint Francis Catholic.
Meanwhile, Trenton narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Oak Hall 51-48. The win was all the more spectacular given Trenton's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while Oak Hall is ranked 37th).
Zander Grant and Mason VunCannon were among the main playmakers for Trenton as the former scored 15 points and the latter scored 20 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dax Becker, who scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds.
Bell's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-4. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.3 points per game. As for Trenton, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Bell came up short against Trenton when the teams last played back in January, falling 37-25. Can Bell avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
