Basketball Recap: Teddy Winstel's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Canton over Howell

Canton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 53-46 to the Howell Highlanders. The Cobras were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Highlanders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Cobras players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Teddy Winstel, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 18 points. Nick Hurley was another key player, going 5 for 11 en route to 14 points and five assists.

Canton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Howell, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.

When Canton and Howell next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Canton will challenge Brighton and their five-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Canton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Howell will try to stop Northville's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
