Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Zaiden Archuleta and Nick Turner Lead Foothill Tech to Victory

There's no place like home for Foothill Tech, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the Fillmore Flashes by a score of 67-60 on Wednesday. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Flashes recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Foothill Tech was led to victory by Nick Turner and Zaiden Archuleta. Turner posted 18 points and three steals, while Archuleta almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards. Turner has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Greg Davis also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Foothill Tech was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fillmore only racked up seven.

When it comes to explaining why Fillmore lost, don't look at Brenden Banks-Speed. Despite the final result, he had 19 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Matthew Zavala, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Foothill Tech's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Fillmore, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Foothill Tech has already played their next contest, a 67-50 win against Carpinteria on the 19th. As for Fillmore, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-32 victory against Nordhoff on the 19th.
