Basketball Recap: Neuqua Valley Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 14-14 at halftime, Neuqua Valley was not quite Metea Valley's equal in the second half on Thursday. They took a 43-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Metea Valley Mustangs. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly seven points.

Metea Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jailyn Cutts led the charge by putting up 12 points. Another player making a difference was Arainna Hammons, who posted ten points.

Neuqua Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season. As for Metea Valley, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 7-17.
