Football Recap: Piedmont Piles Up the Points Against Locust Fork + How To Watch

Piedmont won the last time they faced Locust Fork and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs breezed past the Hornets to the tune of 49-9. With the Bulldogs ahead 36-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Nick Mixson had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 128 yards and one score on only seven carries. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Rollie Pinto, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Piedmont proved: they limited Locust Fork to a paltry 2.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Chase Kirkpatrick for the heroic effort on defense: he. Piedmont didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.4.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Pinto, who ran a punt back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a kickoff return touchdown from him.

The win keeps Piedmont at an undefeated 6-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 46.3 points this season. As for Locust Fork, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
