Baseball Recap: Enterprise Gets the Win

While Enterprise's victory against Bogue Chitto wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Yellowjackets narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bobcats 3-2. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Haygan Floyd was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Floyd was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Ryder Martin was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was AJ Raiford, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Enterprise's win bumped their record up to 3-4-1. As for Bogue Chitto, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Enterprise will head out to take on Franklin County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Yellowjackets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bogue Chitto, they will venture away from home to face off against Tylertown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
