Cranfills Gap unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 60-35 to the Covington Owls on Tuesday. The Lions' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it eight in a row dating back to last season.
Ivan Mendez had an outrageously good game for Covington as he went 7 for 10 en route to 14 points plus eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gaven Burt, who had ten points in addition to three steals.
