Two powers of private school fame lead the way.

Video: Recap - Bishop Hendricken vs. Portsmouth, 2016
See highlights of two of the state's most dominant programs doing battle last season.

Nobody in Rhode Island can come close to the dominance displayed by Bishop Hendricken since MaxPreps became America's source for high school sports in 2006. Not even La Salle Academy.

Those private school powers stand above all other programs in the state when looking at program success since 2006. But when it comes to title game appearances, don't overlook Moses Brown and Middletown, which come in fourth and fifth, respectively. Title game appearances at any division level factor into the points and those two schools hang with the higher-ups by virtue of their success among their peers.

Here is how the points break down:

1. 20 for a state title

2. 10 for a state championship game appearance

3. Other points are based on where a team finished in the final MaxPreps Rhode Island Football Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. For example, if a team finished No. 1 overall, it would receive 25 points. If it finished 25th overall, the team would get one point. No points are awarded if the team did not finish in the Top 25.
