Volleyball Recap: Grayson Shield Key Part of Team Effort in Dukes Win + How To Watch

Gloucester barely beat Woodside the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Dukes blew past the Wolverines 3-0 on Tuesday. The Dukes haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Gloucester never let Woodside on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-22, 25-19.

Gloucester's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Grayson Shield led the charge by getting four digs and two blocks. That's the most digs Shield has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hayden Simmons, who had 12 kills, ten digs, and one block.

Gloucester's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Woodside, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-12.

Gloucester didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Kecoughtan on the 29th. Woodside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
