Football Recap: Blacksburg Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Blacksburg extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They had to suffer through a 40-6 loss at the hands of the Central Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Eagles are ranked 94th).

As for Central, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 25.5 points thus far.

Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dwayne Louallen Jr out in front who threw for 180 yards and one touchdown while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Aiden Short helped Louallen Jr out on the ground, rushing for 90 yards and one TD.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blacksburg will square off against Broome at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Centurions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Central, they will take on Cheraw at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
