Recap: First Flight Nighthawks vs. Holmes Aces
The First Flight Nighthawks's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against Holmes by a score of 54-44. This was payback for First Flight, who suffered a 40-25 defeat the last time these two teams met.
First Flight was led to victory by Josephine Voight and Maddy Beatson. Voight scored 14 points along with three steals, while Beatson scored 17 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Summer Stevens, who scored six points along with two steals.
First Flight's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Holmes, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
First Flight's road trip will continue as they head out to face Pasquotank County at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Pasquotank County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 474th, while First Flight is ranked 140th). As for Holmes, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Camden County at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Camden County is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
