Springfield extended their winning streak to 17 on Wednesday, bumping them up to 27-3. They put the hurt on the Marple Newtown Fightin Tigers with a sharp 12-2 win. Considering the Cougars have won 21 games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Marple Newtown, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this contest were averaging 3.77 runs allowed.

For Marple Newtown's part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Claire Maholick, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Melina Badolato also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

As of now, neither Springfield nor Marple Newtown have any future games scheduled.
