Recap: Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets vs. McQuaid Jesuit Knights
The Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 76-67 to McQuaid Jesuit. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (57), Rush-Henrietta still had to take the loss.
Jalen Taggart and Avery Council certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Taggart scored 25 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Council scored 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Taggart has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ethan Dengler, who scored six points.
Rush-Henrietta has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for McQuaid Jesuit, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rush-Henrietta will take on Gates Chili at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gates Chili is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for McQuaid Jesuit, they will play host again and welcome Fairport, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Fairport knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully McQuaid Jesuit likes a good challenge.
