Meanwhile, Purnell Swett had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They beat the Bears by a goal, winning 2-1. Purnell Swett found success even though the refs didn't miss a thing: Maryah Locklear and Josie McLean were both handed yellow cards.

Cape Fear's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Purnell Swett, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Cape Fear came out on top in a nail-biter against Purnell Swett in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colts since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
