Valley Christian had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.7 points) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Tuesday. They breezed by the Apache Junction Prospectors to the tune of 80-44. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Prospectors are ranked 260th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Valley Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Carson Grier out in front who went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. Grier is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last ten games he's played. Colby Jessup was another key player, going 8 of 17 to rack up 20 points.

Valley Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Omar Adam and Tucker Barks certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Adam posted 17 points along with seven boards and five assists, while Barks went 8 for 12 en route to 16 points. That was a full 38.6% of Apache Junction's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points.

Valley Christian pushed their record up to 21-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 91.0 points over those games. As for Apache Junction, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season.

Valley Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 76-41 victory against Florence on the 6th. As for Apache Junction, they have also already played their next match, a 75-61 win against Globe on the 6th.
