Soccer Recap: Newton-Conover Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Newton-Conover's offense. They lost 3-0 to the Cape Fear Academy Hurricanes on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Newton-Conover can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 164th, while Cape Fear Academy are ranked 29th).

Newton-Conover's loss dropped their record down to 10-5-2. As for Cape Fear Academy, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newton-Conover will challenge Maiden at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cape Fear Academy, they will square off against Arendell Parrott Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Cape Fear Academy are facing Arendell Parrott Academy at the right time seeing as Arendell Parrott Academy are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
