Baseball Recap: Mandeville Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Ponchatoula typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Mandeville proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Green Wave. The game was the first time the Skippers have beaten the Green Wave on their field since March 31, 2022.

Mandeville's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-19. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Ponchatoula, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-13.

Mandeville and Ponchatoula should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. The Skippers (ranked 39th) will meet Central Catholic (ranked 133rd) at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Ponchatoula will square off against Archbishop Shaw at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (33 vs. 86).
