Softball Recap: Rochester Beats Peoria Notre Dame for Their Fifth Straight Win

Rochester extended their winning streak to five on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 17-3 in the process. Everything went their way against the Peoria Notre Dame Irish as they made off with an 11-4 win. Considering the Rockets have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Peoria Notre Dame, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. They have struggled against Rochester recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

For Peoria Notre Dame's part, Mady Gibson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Gibson's first of the season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rochester will host Carterville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something the Rockets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Peoria Notre Dame, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Teresa at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Irish are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
