Soccer Recap: Bartow Comes Up Short

Bartow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Winter Haven Blue Devils. The Yellow Jackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Bartow's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Winter Haven, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4-1.

Bartow will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Ridge Community at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Bartow is on a four-game streak of home wins, Ridge Community a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the pitch. Winter Haven has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Lakeland on the 20th.
