Basketball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

Salem lost to Danvers back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Witches were outmatched by the Falcons and fell 59-10.

Danvers found their leader in freshman Stella Shairs, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for Shairs. The team also got some help courtesy of Angielouise Djoko, who posted six points and seven boards.

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Danvers, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Salem will take on rival Swampscott at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Danvers is set to challenge their familiar foe Peabody Veterans Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
