Baseball Game Preview: Susquenita Blackhawks vs. Line Mountain Eagles

For the second straight game, Susquenita will face off against Line Mountain. The Blackhawks will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Susquenita is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.

Susquenita was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Line Mountain on Wednesday. The Blackhawks blew past the Eagles 17-5. The Blackhawks haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Chanse Fisher was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Billy Syster was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eric Rice, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases and three runs.

Line Mountain is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Susquenita, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.
