Basketball Recap: Sanai Mckenzie-Watson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Grovetown over South Gwinnett

Grovetown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 42-32 to the South Gwinnett Comets. The match marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Grovetown's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sanai McKenzie-Watson, who posted four points and eight boards.

Grovetown now has a losing record at 9-10. As for South Gwinnett, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-8.

Grovetown and South Gwinnett could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Grovetown will take on Grayson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 109 places (115 vs. 6). Similarly, South Gwinnett (ranked 216th) will meet Archer (ranked 17th) at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
