Recap: Bloomfield Bobcats vs. Miyamura Patriots
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gallup, the Bloomfield Bobcats were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 45-35 victory over Miyamura. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bloomfield also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Bloomfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aliya Quintana, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and five steals. Quintana is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Delanna Russell was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Miyamura still got an impressive performance from Kaytoinette Ross, who scored 19 points. That was a full 54.3% of Miyamura's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laurn Begay, who scored six points.
Bloomfield's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Miyamura, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will take on Kirtland Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kirtland Central will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Miyamura, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Shiprock at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Shiprock is ranked 75th, while Miyamura is ranked 69th).
