Soccer Game Preview: Tunstall vs. Halifax County

The Tunstall Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Halifax County Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Tunstall made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bassett, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over the Bengals on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what Tunstall needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

They hit Bassett with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jadon Hawker (2), Ethan Howell (2), and Jamison Dishman.

Meanwhile, Halifax County kept a clean sheet against Martinsville on Monday. They blew past the Bulldogs 6-0. The victory continues a trend for Halifax County in their matchups with Martinsville: they've now won seven in a row.

Tunstall's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Halifax County, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Tunstall beat Halifax County 3-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
