Baseball Game Preview: Heartland Christian Lions vs. Bristol Panthers

The Heartland Christian Lions will head out on the road to take on the Bristol Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Heartland Christian is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Heartland Christian came into this matchup off a tough six-run loss on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of East Palestine by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. Surprisingly, this marked the Lions' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Heartland Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brennan Murray, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Bristol made easy work of Badger on Tuesday and carried off a 16-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Bristol got a massive performance out of Jack Berry, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Berry has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Croc Thorp, who went 1-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Bristol always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Badger only posted an OBP of .304.

Bristol is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Heartland Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.
