Basketball Game Preview: Cary Academy Chargers vs. Ravenscroft Ravens

Cary Academy hasn't had much luck against Ravenscroft recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cary Academy Chargers will square off against the Ravenscroft Ravens at 5:15 p.m.

Cary Academy came up into this matchup off a tough 27-point loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Durham Academy by a score of 40-38 on Friday. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Cary Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gabrielle Young almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. The game was Young's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Maya Pulido, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Ravenscroft hadn't done well against North Raleigh Christian Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Ravenscroft walked away with a 56-44 win over North Raleigh Christian Academy.

Ravenscroft pushed their record up to 12-14 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Cary Academy, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Cary Academy might still be hurting after the 56-35 loss they got from Ravenscroft in their previous matchup back in January. Can Cary Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
