Basketball Recap: Pierce Kleine's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Friday Harbor over Raymond/South Bend

Friday Harbor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 71-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raymond/South Bend Ravens. Even though they lost, the Wolverines' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.2 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Pierce Kleine, who posted 21 points. The matchup was Kleine's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Whiley McCutcheon, who earned 16 points.

Chris Quintana was his usual excellent self, going 10 for 21 on his way to 22 points and five assists for Raymond/South Bend. Quintana is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 18 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Fernando Jimenez, who went 7 of 8 on his way to 15 points.

Friday Harbor's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Raymond/South Bend, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Friday Harbor didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-41 loss against Forks on the 28th. As for Raymond/South Bend, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-49 defeat against Hoquiam on the 28th.
