Volleyball Recap: Fairmont Takes a Loss

After flying high against Monroe on Saturday, Fairmont came back down to earth. The Firebirds fell 3-1 to the Bellbrook Golden Eagles on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Firebirds in their meetings with the Golden Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Fairmont started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-16, 25-14, 25-20.

When it comes to explaining why Fairmont lost, don't look at Noel Briones. Despite the final result, she had 15 digs and five assists.

Fairmont's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Bellbrook, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Fairmont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Chaminade Julienne Catholic on the 19th. As for Bellbrook, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Centerville on the 23rd.
