Baseball Game Preview: George West Longhorns vs. Aransas Pass Panthers

George West is 9-1 against Aransas Pass since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Longhorns will take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Aransas Pass took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on George West, who comes in off a win.

George West was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Mathis on Tuesday. The Longhorns were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Pirates. The Longhorns not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 4th.

George West got a great performance from Vance Partridge as he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Partridge has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Trevor Poe was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dylan Thomisee, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5.

Meanwhile, Aransas Pass fell victim to Odem and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Owls, falling 10-0. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Aransas Pass' defeat dropped their record down to 6-11-1. As for George West, they now have a winning record of 15-14-2.

George West couldn't quite get it done against Aransas Pass in their previous matchup two weeks ago as they fell 13-10. Can the Longhorns avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
