Basketball Recap: Stratford Falls Despite Big Games from Hannah Johnson and Taniya Roberts

Stratford lost against Whites Creek last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Stratford Spartans fell 38-28 to the Whites Creek Cobras.

Despite the loss, Stratford had strong showings from Taniya Roberts, who posted seven points along with 13 boards and three steals, and Hannah Johnson, who put up six points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Roberts a new career-high in rebounds.

Stratford has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Whites Creek, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-5.

Stratford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-4 win against KIPP Nashville Collegiate on the 31st. Whites Creek has also already played their next contest, a 66-22 defeat against East Nashville Magnet on the 31st.
