Basketball Recap: Lyman Comes Up Short

Lyman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They lost 41-20 to the Lake Brantley Patriots. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Greyhounds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 41-30 on January 7th.

When it comes to explaining why Lyman lost, don't look at Gizelle Carvajal. Despite the final result, she posted 11 points.

Lake Brantley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Olivia White led the charge by putting up 14 points. Alana Taylor was another key player, earning 11 points.

Lyman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-22. As for Lake Brantley, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-15 record.

Lyman and Lake Brantley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Lyman will challenge Lake Mary at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday down 518 places (606 vs. 88). Similarly, Lake Brantley (ranked 552nd) will meet Winter Park (ranked 252nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
